About Me

In writing ‘Opera Veritatis,’ I am hoping to offer insightful and thoughtful articles as I share my passion for music and life. I am a conductor and composer and play violin, viola and percussion; music is my passion and I am trying to build a fulfilling life in music. Classical music has been my life since I was a child–it informs everything I do.
I believe in the goodness of people: in their capacity to do good works, to be compassionate, to offer and receive hope. I believe in empathy; in compassion, not in pity; in understanding, not judgment; in persistence, not pessimism. I believe that love is the greatest gift in the world, for by giving it to others one may only receive more. It is an endless resource, simple yet incredibly powerful. And above all, I believe in love: all-encompassing, unconditional, deeply passionate love. Whether it is love for an idea, an experience, a religion, a philosophy, a friend, a family member or romantic love, we are all capable of it and deserve to experience it. I hope to share this in these ‘works of truth.’

  1. How do you do, Mr Joseph Jones? SoundEagle is glad to be acquianted with you here.

It seems that SoundEagle is the first living being to click the “Like” button and the first to comment here.

Happy October to you! Since SoundEagle’s writing here is the very first comments on this “About” page since your blog’s inception, SoundEagle would like to wish you a new dawn and a satisfying journey of blogging in the final quarter of 2013, and writing about your experiences, satisfactions and frustrations in music culture, specifically the classical music sphere, of which SoundEagle has/had had aplenty.

Indeed, SoundEagle would like to congratulate you on your having achieved a great deal, and on your associating with some eminent musicians, including the likes of Samuel Adler in Orchestration as well as William Bolcom and George Crumb in composition. Bravo!

SoundEagle hopes that you continue to do very well and find fulfillment in whatever you enjoy doing and savouring, especially through your new blog as a creative outlet to share and document your “Works of Truth: A life in Music” as well as your music, thoughts, opinions, wishes and all things fun and interesting that come into musical life as a performer, conductor, director and composer.
